*Curly Coated Stallions (colts) & Mares (fillies) horses require coat gene testing.
If a tested single gene (heterozygous or homozygous) Curly is bred to a straight horse we can apply a default coat gene. (Geldings and Smooth coats are exempt).

eFile Registration Forms- forms must be typed - Birth Month needs to be abbreviated: Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May Jun, Jul, Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Sex needs to spelled- Stallion, Mare or Gelding (do not list M or F, male or female, the actual sex is required)

(Geldings and Smooth Coats exempt) Please contact the office if you are unsure of what coat genes to test for. If you are Curly Coat Gene testing at the same time as DNA Parentage testing, use the DNA Coat Genes testing form. UKY is now offering coat gene testing and it can be done at the same times as your DNA Parentage testing. One form, one hair sample, additional fees apply. The Genetic Panel & Pro Panel is also offering DNA parentage markers, so only one hair sample and includes coat genes. *We now offer Genomic Inbreeding Value testing, a more accurate inbreeding percentage than pedigree COI%. This is an important option for breeders. It can be ordered separately or for already Genetic Panel tested horses. |

All horses in 2018 and after will be required to be parentage DNA Typed (geldings excluded) If you have a DNA report from another registry or lab we accept those for a $10.00 recording fee.
Geldings are not required to be DNA typed, a hair sample and form is required.
Transfers done at the same time as Registration (you bought this horse or are not the breeder) cost $10.00

Please be sure your horses side view for the Registration Certificate is with head up and a clear background- trees, pasture grass, side of building or barn is ok, (no equipment, extra people, cars, tucks, carts, tack, etc)

If you bought your horse (you are not the breeder) you will need a transfer with Registration fee. If you have a DNA report from another registry or lab you can submit that plus Registration fee. Please note- Genetic Panel price increases OCT 1, 2023
The Genetic Panel will be $149.00 and now includes parentage DNA, Genetic Panel Plus will be the Genetic Pro Panel $179.00. Then mail hair sample.
You will need to be a current ICHO member to register your horse.
